The most bizarre thing just happened to me. I am on the 15 hour CX flight from LA to HK. I watched “The Exorcism of Emily Rose,” which was an excellent film. (Based on the recent and true story of a US-based Catholic priest who was charged with murder after a girl died during an exorcism.) Naturally, any discussion about God and the voltage turns up. Sensors awake. Antenna receiving.
After the movie I drift around the plane, turning the film’s content over in my head. I stretch my legs and returning to my seat, stop to get a drink.
Splash! I look down and the flight attendant spilled a glass of water down the back of my leg. She is extremely apologetic and helps me clean it up. Not much damage.
I return to my seat but feel a slight headache coming on. Decide to take an Ibuprofen and more juice, since plane headaches can grow while one is asleep. Stay hydrated, too. I return to get a glass of juice from the flight attendant. I haven’t been gone longer than two minutes.
Splash! I look down and another flight attendant spilled a glass of water down the back of my leg in the exact same spot. She is extremely apologetic and helps me clean it up. The first flight attendant watches the whole thing in disbelief. Now I’m wet.
I return to my seat, on the way telling a colleague what just happened. “Buddy, you better sit down,” he says. I do exactly that.
Splash! I look down and the guy sitting across from me knocked over his water glass. The water splattered across the aisle and all over me.
Three glasses of water thrown on me in less than four minutes after watching The Exorcism of Emily Rose.
Coincidence or part of the unexplained?

Oh, I don’t mean to laugh, but that was pretty funny!
Wow! That is freaky!
I have been wanting to see that movie, but have been too scared. I guess I should give it a shot???
Oooh…I’ve heard good things about that movie, and have been meaning to see it for quite a while.
I think, though, that I’ll make sure that I *don’t* watch it while on a plane. 🙂
(Btw…I’m here from Michele’s tonight!)
LOL! That would be enough to freak ME out! Michele sent me
Oh man. I feel your pain. I am sure it was all coincendental but being on a plane while all those were happening would certainly throw me off a little. I see you are originally from Canada, love seeing fellow canucks blogging. Here from Micheles.
if I were you I would get a sterling silver crucifix – size XXL
no flight crew is that clumsy!

ok that’s just plain creepy. I think you better watch your back for the next couple days! 😉
I never question those things that I can not explain. This COULD be a coincidence. Or not. Either way, I’ve got a shiver down to the very base of my spine that just won’t go away. I hope all that hydration – intended and otherwise – helped forestall a worsening headache.
BTW, thanks for your comment on my blog last week. We often find ourselves in Toronto to visit family and friends – were just there this weekend, coincidentally – and I, too, would very much enjoy meeting you the next time you’re in town. Keep me posted on your itinerary and we’ll try to cross our paths accordingly. I think it would be neat!
