The smog struck back…

Jun07hk_pollutionI am sitting in the Cathay Pacific lounge about to fly back to Hong Kong. I was hoping to send and receive e-mails but for some odd reason I am unable to establish a successful VPN connection. However, I have had a very good visit and am quite optimistic about the team here in Tokyo: switched on and motivated! I arrived on Tuesday night and before heading out of the office stopped to observe the view I had just lost. I guess the southerly winds have stopped and the pollution is now drifting back down from Hong Kong. You guessed it, the above picture is taken from the exact same position as the picture on the clear beautiful day that I started. In case you have any doubts about the pollution in Hong Kong… now you know. As for Tokyo, well, the air quality is quite good but the streets? It is incredibly pristine and clean to a surreal point.

  1. Hi, Charles,
I was just at House of Lime, and you scared me. You are the first person I’ve seen using their real name that has the same name as mine. I thought for a bit that someone was impersonating me. I don’t know if its possible, since you are on typepad, but is there any way you could get your picture to show beside your comments?
You obviously have very fine name. For that 1/2 second before I realize that its not someone’s sock puppet trying to impersonate me, I almost panic.
