Sharing my failures?

Here is an interesting video I recently found. I am aware of the fact my kids are always watching me – not necessarily proud of that fact and perhaps some of the things they see that I could do/be better – but the idea of sharing my failures with them was new to me. Sure, it’s one thing to say, "Yes, Daddy is being disciplined by the police because he was speeding!" but a whole other thing to share real failures. That would constitute "Charles’ deepest darkest secrets, fears & anxieties" and only 24% of you wish to hear about that, therefore, why would my kids want to know? Hmmm… what do you think?

  2. Our children need to know its ok to fail and that we will love them regardless. You could let them know that you are sad because you were trying to accomplish something that didn’t work out. We just have to remember to put on that parent filter that sorts out what you can share with a 14 year old and what you can share with a 4 year old.

When the little darlings become teenagers the problem will be solved. They will tell you the bad news and you will be at the age where you really don’t hear everything they say. God works in a very interesting manner.
