Floating rubbish dump in the pacific
This is what Sebastian is learning about at school and it's causing him to think twice about using plastic and throwing things out. I'm impressed!
I didn't even know Sebastian was aware of the Plastic Vortex until I asked Jasper to please put a plastic bag in the bin. (I didn't know Terrific Tess, knew either, but apparently she does… yours truly is a bad husband for not asking Tess enough questions… blush.) Sebastian objected, explaining we could re-use the bag (it was a small ziploc sandwich bag) and that he didn't want the bag to end up in the Plastic Vortex. Sebastian is turning into quite the environmental activist. So is a friend of mine (believe me, I am not objecting!), Ruth Shields, who has plans to clean up the Plastic Vortex that is 1.4 million square kms… twice the size of the state of Texas. For Canadians that's about twice the size of Alberta. For Australians that's about twice the size of the Northern Territory, the "Outback State" of down under. You can learn more about Ruth's organization here: http://www.thegp2project.o
